PRESS/NEWS RELEASES
2018 SEPTEMBER 13, 2018 Easy to install, easy to maintain, the MagnaClean DRX offers facility managers, specifiers and installers a more budget-friendly option for eliminating iron oxide sludge in hydronic heating systems. The ADEY® MagnaClean™ DRX magnetic dirt filter provides a highly compact and cost-effective solution for removing debris and black iron oxide sludge from commercial hydronic heating systems. Available for roughly 60 percent of the cost of premium magnetic filtration products, the DRX offers essential magnetic filter technology to engineers and other specifiers who are reluctant to use such a product because of budget constraints.
AUGUST 16, 2018 ADEY Honored with Third Queen’s Award Award celebrates outstanding growth as ADEY educates about the dangers of iron oxide sludge ADEY, a UK-based company that first brought its magnetic filtration technology to the United States just over two years ago, has been awarded with a third Queen’s Award for its pioneering work in maintaining and protecting central heating systems around the world from the dangers of damaging iron oxide sludge.
February 09, 2018 ADEY® Improves Magnetic Dirt Filter for Light Commercial to Heavy Industrial Applications As contractors become all too familiar with the damaging effects of iron oxide sludge on today’s high-efficiency commercial hydronic heating and cooling installations (see box below), the need for a solution has been growing. ADEY® Professional Heating Solutions answered that need with the introduction of the MagnaClean® Commercial™ Magnetic Dirt Filter range to the North American market last year, and recently unveiled improvements.
2017 August 01, 2017 ADEY® Introduces a Magnetic Filtration Solution for North America’s Most Common Pipe Size Iron oxide represents a serious problem for hydronic heating systems. Buildup of this damaging sludge can reduce heat transfer to the home by as much as 15 percent, and reduce boiler efficiency by up to 6 percent in only three weeks.*
JUNE 01, 2017 MagnaClean® DualXP™ Bridges the Gap Between Residential and Heavy-Duty Commercial Magnetic Filters ADEY® Unveils Another Magnetic Filtration Solution to the North American Market For contractors looking to solve problems caused by water quality issues with hydronic system installations in larger residential or light commercial applications, ADEY’s MagnaClean DualXP provides a clear solution.
JANUARY 30, 2017 The Devastating Effects of Iron Oxide Sludge Can Now Be Virtually Eliminated Contractors are beginning to see a new problem surfacing in high efficiency hydronic heating systems: iron oxide sludge, also called magnetite. This black sludge, an unavoidable result of oxidation inside untreated hydronic systems, is causing expensive damage and loss of system efficiency. According to Dr. Neil Watson, ADEY® Global Technical Director, “Nearly 70 percent of circulator pumps returned to pump manufacturers fail due to iron oxide and other water quality issues. Data also show that over 95 percent of debris in hydronic heating systems is made up of iron oxide.”

2016 December 20, 2016 ADEY® MC3+™ and MC1+™ System Treatment Formulas: Innovative Solutions that Combat Iron Oxide Sludge Part of ADEY’s Best Practice™ Approach to Cleaning and Protecting Hydronic Systems ADEY, a U.K.-based company whose pioneering MagnaClean® magnetic filters were recently rolled out in the U.S., is now introducing a line of innovative, concentrated System Treatment Formulas designed to clean and protect hydronic heating systems. MC3+™ Cleaner and MC1+™ Protector both serve different purposes, but are both born of the same need to combat a frequently overlooked enemy of untreated hydronic heating systems – iron oxide sludge.
October 16, 2016 The Devastating Effects of Iron Oxide Sludge Can Now Be Virtually Eliminated As the popularity of high-performance circulators and boilers increases, the very characteristics that are responsible for that increased level of performance are bringing a new problem to the forefront: iron oxide sludge, also called magnetite. This black sludge, an unavoidable result of oxidation inside untreated hydronic systems, is wreaking havoc in the form of expensive breakdowns and repairs. Consumers as well as contractors are looking for answers.
